     Fluid Magnetic Fluid Conditioner
For 1/4" to 1/2" Tubing or Pipe.

Single Device - Magnetic Water Softener

    SALE Price $129.99!

    Discontinued Model Only

    APPLICATIONS

    Primary Applications:

Residential and commercial applications wherever hard water is present (fuel lines, swamp coolers, commercial ice machines, fountains, printing equipment, commercial dishwashers).

    INSTALLATION

    Please Note:

Each set consists of two pieces--one with a north polarity and the other with a south polarity (the label covers the north pole piece). One north pole/south pole set is recommended for 1/4" to 3/8" lines and most automobile applications. Two sets are recommended for 7/16" to 1/2" lines and most diesel truck applications.

1-1/4" nylon bolts are provided with the Model 400.

1-3/4" bolts are available from  International.

    1. Insert the bolts through the holes in both units [north pole and south pole].

    2. Secure the bolts with wing nuts the regular shaped wing nuts are for normal installations. Locking wing nuts are also provided for more secure installations. Tighten until the wing nuts are snug. Do not over -tighten!

    3. If the units do not clamp securely to the tubing, place a sleeve of plastic or rubber tubing over the existing tubing. This is recommended for tubing smaller then 5/16"inside diameter.

    4. Install the second Model 400 set 1/2" away from the first following the same installation instructions. Make sure that the north pole units[with the labels] are lined up so that both are facing in the same direction on the same side of the tubing. Also be sure that there is a 1/2" space between the two sets.

    SPECIAL NOTES

    Placement:

For water systems the Model 400 should be installed wherever the fluid enters the equipment being treated. Single sets may be used as boosters for individual appliances, or on moderate temperature recirculation systems.

For fuel systems the Model 400 should be placed 6" to 12" away from any high heat source such as the manifold or the exhaust system. And 12" away from diagnostic control centers (computer) and sensors. Sets can be mounted on the fuel line anywhere between the tank and the engine, On fuel injected engines, mount the sets on the line to the engine not the return line. When treating a semi-closed loop system line (ice machine, swamp cooler, dishwasher) install the Model 400 inside the equipment after the circulating pump.

    Direction of Placement:

The  label is placed over the north pole unit in each set. The direction the fluid flows through the tubing makes no difference.

For best results when placing the Model 400 to treat a particular area or appliance, place the sets at least 8" to 12" upstream (before) the area or appliance to be treated.

Do not place the Model 400 close to an electrical power line or electrical equipment capable of generating strong electrical fields, such as a welder or large electrical motor. This can reduce effectiveness.

For Maximum effectiveness, magnetic conditioning requires a smooth calm flow of fluid through the magnetic field. a partial reversal of treatment may be triggered by turbulence. Therefore always place the Model 400 a minimum of 8"to 12" downstream (after)any pump or other turbulence-causing device.

    Non-Ferrous Pipes Only:

Install the Model 400 only on a straight section of non-ferrous (PVC, rubber plastic, copper ,or stainless steel) pipe or tubing--not on steel or iron . Don't place it on any tubing to which the magnets stick. The penetration of a magnetic field through iron or steel (except for stainless steel) pipe is minimal, because the magnetic field travels along the exterior of such tubing preventing it from reaching the fluid. In such cases, replace a 12"section of steel tubing with non -ferrous tubing and then install the Model 400 on that section.

    Stabilization Period:

On water systems: for a few weeks after installing the Model 400 you may notice an increase in water turbidity (cloudiness) this is because scale is being removed from the system. During this stabilization period, carefully monitor filters, tanks, and sumps each week, and drain or clean them as needed.

On fuel systems: a temporary decrease in mileage and an increase in emissions may be noted after installing the Model 400. This is a temporary condition resulting from the removal of accumulated deposits from the fuel system and combustion chambers.

    APPLICATIONS

    Primary Applications:

Residential, commercial, and light industrial applications wherever hard water is present (plumbing systems, water heaters, commercial ice machines, fountains, laundries, printing equipment, commercial dishwashers).

Other applications car and truck cooling systems, irrigation systems.

    INSTALLATION

    1. Place the Model 800 unit against the pipe or tube, with the label facing away from the pipe.

    2. Place the backing plate on the opposite side of the pipe, Align the backing plate holes with the holes in the unit.[Please note: The backing plate is designed to be reversible. Place the two dimples toward the magnets for 1/2" and 5/8" tubing, and away from the magnet for 3/4" and larger pipes].

    3. Insert bolts through the holes in the unit and the backing plate. Secure with wing-nuts.

    4. Tighten the unit until it is snug against the pipe. Do not over-tighten!

    5. Install the second unit in tandem with the first. Leave a 1" space between them. Make sure the labels of both units are on the same side and face the same direction.

    6. Place an additonal 2 units on the line leaving the hot water heater including tankless heaters.

    SPECIAL NOTES

    Placement:

The Model 800 is designed to be installed in a segment of two units , placed wherever the water line enters the building , and spaced 1" apart. Single units may be used as boosters for individual appliances, or on moderate temperature recirculation systems.

    Direction of Placement:

The magnet above the label is the north pole, and the magnet below the label is the south pole. The direction the fluid flows through the pipe or tubing makes no difference.

For best results when placing the Model 800 to treat a particular area or appliance, place the units at least 8" to 12" upstream (before) the area of appliance to be treated.

Do not place the Model 800 close to an electrical power line ,or electrical equipment capable of generating strong electrical fields, such as a welder or large electrical motor. This can reduce the units effectiveness.

For maximum effectiveness, magnetic conditioning requires a smooth, calm flow of fluid through the magnetic field. A partial reversal of the treatment may even be triggered by turbulence. Therefore always place the Model 800 a minimum of 18"to 24" downstream (after) any pump or other turbulence causing device.

    Non-Ferrous Pipes Only:

Install the Model 800 only on non-ferrous (PVC, Plastic, copper,or stainless steel) pipe or tubing-- not on steel or iron pipe. Don't place it on any pipe to which the magnets stick. The penetration of a magnetic field through iron or steel (except stainless steel) pipe is minimal . in effect, the magnetic field travels along the exterior of such pipes, preventing it from reaching the fluid. In such cases, replace an 18" to 24" section of steel pipe with either copper or PVC pipe, and then install the Model 800 on that section.

"Whether you know it or not, whenever fluids run through the pipes and appliances in your house, or through the engine in your car or truck, problems are building -- problems that can wear down your equipment, cost you money and hurt our environment."

The facts are in disputable: the hard water that is piped into the vast majority of our homes, offices, factories, and other buildings causes scale build-up. And scale build-up causes problems that result in wasted dollars.

Water heater inefficiency is just one of these problems. Scale reduces the water flow and decreases heat transfer.

The estimated energy cost for running a 40-gallon electric hot water heater is $450 each year. A scale build up of just 3/8" gobbles up 55 percent more energy, according to the U.S. Bureau of Standards. That's an additional $247 more each year to produce the same amount of hot water, for a total of $697.

In heat exchangers/cooling towers, scale build-up results in reduced heat transfer resulting in higher energy and chemical costs, not to mention the environmental impact of chemical disposal.

Boilers suffer from scale build-up in the same way: a loss of heat transfer efficiency that triggers an increase in energy and chemical costs.

Scale build-up from hard water also causes the following problems:

    • clogged water pipes,
    • reduced water pressure,
    • "frozen" valves on faucets,
    • hard-to-remove soap film on shower tiles and doors,
    • white deposits on shower heads,
    • spots and milky clouds on glassware and silverware,
    • crusted rings in toilet tanks,
    • spotting on tubs, chrome, and tile,
    • poor sudsing of soaps, detergents, and shampoos,
    • scale-related performance decreases in other appliances that use water.
"Magnetic fluid conditioning products work! They solve scale build-up problems in water, and make fuel combustion more complete. Plus, they help the environment."

Fuel is another fluid that causes problems if not treated. While scale build-up is not a problem in gasoline and diesel fuel, incomplete combustion is. Combustion is never complete in gasoline and diesel engines. This is readily visible in the accumulations of carbon in the combustion chambers and valves, and in the varnish that forms in the injectors and carburetors.

    Primary Applications:

Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and agricultural applications wherever hard water is present.

    INSTALLATION

    PLEASE NOTE:

Each Model 8000 set consists of two separate pieces. One piece has two north pole magnets. This is the side covered by the label. The other piece has two south pole magnets. A system consists of one or two sets, held to the pipe by a common band. There should always be a 1"space between units.

Installation on 2" to 4" Pipe:

Install two sets in two units 1" apart . The sets must be placed so that the north pole pieces are lined up with each other on the same side of the pipe, and the south pole pieces are in line with each other on the exact opposite side of the pipe.

Installation on 5" to 6" Pipe:

Install three sets in three units 1" apart. The sets must be placed so that the north pole pieces are lined up with each other on the same side of the pipe, and the south pole pieces are in line with each other on the exact opposite side of the pipe.

Installation on Over 6" to 8" Pipe:

Install six sets in three units with two sets in each units. The north pole pieces of both sets in each unit must be placed side-by-side on one side of the pipe. The south pole pieces of both sets in each unit must be placed side-by-side on the opposite side of the pipe. (For example, if the two north pole pieces in the unit were placed at the 11:00 and 1:00 positions, then the two south pole pieces would be placed at the 5:00 and 7:00 positions.)

    PROCEDURE FOR INSTALLATION

    1. Position the Model 8000 units according to the preceding instructions.

    2. Hold the units into position with fiberglass tape before installing the steel banding.

    3. Hold the "rack" that comes with the steel banding so that the words " This Side Up" are facing you. Insert the end of the rack into the screw housing and turn the screw just enough to engage the rack.

    4. Bend the end of the steel band toward the underside to form a hook. Insert this into the band slot in the housing.

    5. Wrap the band snugly around the units.

    6. Make a second bend [hook] 1" past the band slot in the rack. Secure the band ends behind the units.

    7. Insert the hook into the band slot in the rack and flatten it to form the clamp. Any excess band must be folded back under the unit, or can be trimmed off. Tighten the screw with a screwdriver to the desired tension.

    8. Carefully check the units to make sure they are firmly secured to the pipe before removing the tape.

    SPECIAL NOTES

    Use Caution:

The Model 8000 sets are heavy and can cause injury or damage if dropped. Before clamping them into place with the steel bands, secure the sets in place with fiberglass strapping tape.

    Placement:

The direction the fluid flows through the pipe on which the units are installed makes no difference.

For best results when placing the Model 8000 to treat a particular area or appliance, place the units at least 8" to 12" upstream (before) the area or appliance to be treated.

Do not place the Model 8000 close to an electrical power line, or electrical equipment capable of generating strong electrical fields, such as a welder or large electrical motor. This can reduce the unit's effectiveness.

For maximum effectiveness magnetic fluid conditioning requires a smooth, calm, flow of fluid through the magnetic field. A partial of the treatment may even be triggered by turbulence. Therefore, always place the Model 8000 a minimum of 24"downstream (after) any pump or other turbulence-causing device.

    Non-Ferrous Pipes Only:

Install the Model 8000 only on non-ferrous (PVC, plastic, copper,or stainless steel) pipe or tubing--not on steel or iron pipe. Don't place it on any pipe to which the magnets stick. The penetration of the magnetic field through iron or steel (except for stainless steel) pipe is minimal. In effect, the magnetic field travels along the exterior of such pipes preventing it from reaching the fluid. In such cases, replace and 18" to 24" section of steel pipe with either copper or PVC pipe, and then install the Model 8000 on that section.

    Stabilization Period:

For a few weeks after installing the Model 8000 you may notice and increase in water turbidity (cloudiness). This is because scale is being removed from the system. During this stabilization period, carefully monitor filters, tanks, and sumps each week, and drain or clean them as needed.

Scale and Calcium buildup within pipes.

Incomplete combustion results in harmful emissions, as well as decreased fuel efficiency and engine performance. Like scale build-up in water, these problems take dollars out of your pocket and harm the environment.

We have created magnetic fluid conditioning devices that capture the full power of magnetohydrodynamics and put it to work for you.

It begins with the magnets themselves. The heart of all  products are super high-powered ceramic magnets. Originally developed by the U.S. government for NASA's Space Program, these high-tech, lightweight, compact magnets pack thousands of gauss of magnetic pull into a small space. And they don't wear out or require outside power! In fact, over a normal human life span, the magnets lose an insignificant amount of their original strength! While the basic technology has been used for many years in industrial applications, the compact new magnets allow the advantages of magnetic fluid conditioning to go into private residences...even cars and trucks.

"The potential benefits which could be derived from a non-chemical method of water conditioning of this type (magnetic fluid conditioning) include reduced energy requirements, water conservation, reduction or elimination of chemical feed and control requirements, and reduced pollution."

    American Petroleum Institute, Washington D.C.
Evaluation of the Principles of Magnetic Water Treatment
    API Publication 960, September, 1985

"Old ways die hard but the change is inevitable. We stand on the threshold of a magnetic revolution in fluid conditioning."

Dennis Sheppard & Ron Van Dyke,
    Clash of Technologies, January 1993

"No one argues whether magnetic treatment is effective or not: in the Soviet Union the magnetic treatment of water is used extensively and with tremendous economic effect."

V.I. Klassen Ph.D., Institute of Mineral Fuels,
    Academy of Sciences, USSR, 1969

But the magnet isn't everything. Unless magnetic fluid conditioning devices are designed to take advantage of the principles of magnetohydrodynamics, they are worthless. The products of  --- the leader in this technology --- are not only properly designed, they are designed better than any other products of their kind.

There are three reasons for this:

    1. Contact time

The amount of time a fluid is in contact with the magnetic field as it runs through a pipe is called "contact time." The amount of contact time is indicated by the length of pipe that is exposed to the magnetic field. The more contact time, the more effective the conditioning. Some magnetic fluid conditioners give the fluids only a half-inch of contact time. That's a major difference.

    2. Focus

The focus of the energy field is another essential factor. A magnetic fluid conditioning unit must be focused properly on the fluid that runs through the pipe. If the water or fuel is not squarely within the focal range.

    3. The Magnet's Strength

All  magnetic fluid conditioning products are made with grade 8 ceramic magnets developed by NASA. Ceramic magnets are the only material known to man to hold a permanent magnetic charge throughout a human's lifetime. In 125 years, these lose less than 3 percent of their power.

    1. Typical scale and calcium buildup caused by untreated water has almost closed this pipe.

    2. This photo shows the effect of magnetically treated water on the same section of pipe a short time after the installation.

    3. After continual treatment, most scale is removed and will be prevented as long as the system is in operation.

    Ringmaster

    APPLICATIONS

    Primary Applications:

The Natural Advantage Ringmaster shows what magnetics can do to the taste of different liquids/drinks, such as coffee, tea, grapefruit juice, grape juice, wine--for the most part liquids that have a slightly bitter taste.

    Please Note:

Pour the liquid into a small glass, taste it, then place the liquid on the south attracting side of the ringmaster (label up). Stir the liquid with a non-metallic stir stick and let them taste it again. There is a real difference.

Use two different glasses for the test (one for the non-treated and one for the treated) that way you can go back and forth to be sure of the difference.

    Before & After Treatments

Below are pictures documenting University of California at Davis Student Housing 6 month experiment with magnetic water treatment on a commercial low pressure steam domestic hot water system in our Tercero South dormitories.

    A bit of background....

Two identical brand new dorms with 200 occupants each with separate but identical hot water systems went on line at UC Davis in September 2005. In December 2005, after almost 3 months of operation with no water treatment whatsoever on either system, the tube bundles were removed from the tank sand photographed. At that point (Dec 05) International magnets were installed on building 2's system as designed by  engineer Larry Brown. No magnets were put on building 1's system. In June 2006, after six months of parallel operation with no magnets on building 1's system, and the  International magnets on building 2's system, the tube bundles were removed and photographed again.

    Building One (before / without)

Above, the same tube bundle 6 months later in June 2006, again with no treatment. Scale continued to form and got thicker and crustier.

Non treated tube bundle from building 1 in 12/05 after 3 months of operation. Scale was just beginning to form.

Above, (sorry it is so blurry) shows the same bundle as above in June 2006 after we tried to scrape it with a steel brush. It is hard to see, but scale was severely etched onto the copper and would only partially brush off.

    Building 2 (after / with)

Above, shows the non treated tube bundle from building 2 in 12/05 after 3 months of operation.

Above shows building 2's tube bundle in 6/06 after 6 months of operation with magnetic water treatment.

(These can be directly compared to images at top of page after 6 months with no treatment.)

After 6 months of magnetic water treatment we found the following:

    1. Scale build-up was less than on the non treated bundle.
    2. Scale build-up was less than 6 months earlier. (Magnets dissolved some of the scale from 6 months earlier.)
    3. Scale build-up was more "powdery" on the magnetically treated bundle than on the non treated bundle.
    4. Scale build-up etched onto the tube bundle of the non treated system, but did not etch onto the magnetically treated tube bundle.
    5. Scale build-up easily scraped off of the magnetically treated bundle, but would not scrape off of the non treated bundle to the same degree, even with very aggressive scraping.

    THE BOTTOM LINE:

UCD Student Housing found the magnetic water treatment to be beneficial, helpful and worthwhile. It reduced scale build up and changed the chemical nature of the scale so that it is easily removable.

UCD Student Housing is continuing its test and will evaluate the tube bundles again in December 2006, after another 6 months of parallel operation of one system with magnets and the other system without.

    The Facts

    Proven Benefits of Magnetic
    Fluid Conditioners in Water Systems

    Prevention of Scale Build-Up
By applying the laws of magnetohydrodynamics, conditioners prevent minerals from precipitating on the inside of pipes and other surfaces in the form of hard scale and will not corrode pipes, water heaters, and other fixtures. They thwart scale more completely and efficiently than traditional water softeners do.

Progressive Removal of Existing Scale Build-Up
When installed in existing water systems, conditioners not only prevent new scale build-up, but will remove existing build-ups over a period of time.

    Improved Water Flow
By "unclogging" pipes and fixtures of existing scale build-up and keeping them clear,  conditioners permit increased flow of water through them.

Increased Water Heater and Appliance Efficiency
conditioners remove the scale build-ups that can drastically reduce the efficiency of water heaters and certain other appliances. This means that more energy is required to produce the desired results. According to the U.S. Bureau of Standards, scale that is just 1/20th of an inch thick can increase energy costs by 10 percent. A 1/4-inch layer of scale results in a whopping 40 percent increase in energy costs. By making these appliances more efficient, you save energy dollars.

Extended Life of Plumbing Fixtures and Appliances.
Scale build-up can drastically reduce the life and efficient operations of plumbing fixtures and appliances that come in contact with hard water. products reduce maintenance expenses and can eliminate repair costs.

    Reduced Initial Cost
magnetic fluid conditioning products cost only a fraction of what traditional water softeners cost.

    No Ongoing Costs
Water softeners consume over 800 pounds of salt each year.  conditioners don't. Water softeners also require significant amounts of electricity, as well as extra water for backwashing (up to 10,000 gallons a year.)  conditioners don't. They consume nothing. In addition, with  conditioners you can reduce the amount of soaps and detergents you use for clothing dishes and bathing including shampoos.

    Non-Polluting
An environmental movement is gaining momentum in some areas of the country to prohibit the use of water softeners that use salt. More than 25 communities in California have already banned or restricted their use, claiming that they are harmful to the environment. These water softeners exchange sodium for hardness materials such as calcium and magnesium at a rate of two-to-one and the high levels of sodium can contaminate ground water and waterways, degrading drinking water supplies. conditioners use no salts or chemicals and thereby eliminate this problem.

    Sparkling Freshness
Conditioned water feels fresher and cleaner than water conditioned with salt-based water softeners. There is no slippery feeling when showering. Hair has more luster. The unsightly water spots on dishes, glasses, and even cars and trucks are greatly reduced. Clothes last longer. Swimming pools and spas stay clean and crystal-clear with smaller quantities of chlorines, clarifiers, and purifiers.

    A Healthier Alternative
According to the American Heart Association, fatal heart attacks and strokes are more common in areas where water is either naturally soft or has been treated with water softeners to remove calcium and magnesium. The AHA also indicates that salt-softened water may cause an elevated sodium level, which as been linked to a variety of other health problems, including high blood pressure, water retention, gall bladder disease and goiters.  conditioners offer a healthy alternative: they condition water with magnetics rather than salt. This means that they do not increase the sodium level in the water, and are completely safe for people with heart conditions and hypertension. Plus, they leave the minerals in the water that are essential to human health. Even plants and grass respond to magnetically conditioned water by growing faster and healthier.

    Proven Benefits of  Magnetic
    Fluid Conditioners in Fuel Systems

    More Complete Combustion
Because of the propensity of magnetically treated fuel to attract oxygen molecules when mixed with air in a combustion cylinder, conditioners enable fuel to burn more completely throughout the entire chamber, whether it's gasoline or diesel engine. For example, if you were to try to burn a log with a single match, it will burn very inefficiently, giving you a smoldering, gradual burn with less heat and more smoke and ashes. But if you take that same log and split it up into smaller pieces, it will burn much more efficiently, giving you more heat and less smoke and ash residue. The  fuel conditioners "fracture" the hydrocarbon chains in the fuel, much like an ax breaking up a log, thus allowing for a more complete burn.

    Greater Fuel Efficiency
More complete combustion results in the generation of more energy from the same amount of fuel.

    Reduction of Harmful Emissions
Because of a higher proportion of the fuel is combusted within the gasoline or diesel chamber, less is left to pollute the environment in the form of environmentally harmful hydrocarbon emissions.

"When any heat-transfer surface becomes scaled, this insulating scale reduces the efficiency of the equipment, increases fuel requirements, and increases maintenance time and costs. Thus we are faced with an ever demanding job of effectively treating water, not only economically but to assure the minimum environmental pollution attainable.. Magnetic water conditioners, a non-chemical method for treating water, are operating extensively throughout the world today with tremendous economic effect."

"The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) tested magnetically treated water against chemically treated water for corrosion rates of steel corrosion coupons placed in two water systems. Reported results were excellent with corrosion rates of 1-50 mils per year using chemical inhibitors, with four mils per year considered to be acceptable, while corrosion rates of 0.0 mils per year were recorded for the magnetic treatment."
